Team Canada

In the short time that the Toronto Mets have been in existence, numerous players have had the opportunity to participate at higher levels of baseball as they develop their skills.  One, if not the highest level of Amateur acheivement in Canada is participating in Baseball Canada's National Junior team development camps and tournaments.  

Through the tireless work of Canada's Junior National Team Coach Greg Hamilton and his staff, development camps take place throughout the year in places such as the Mizuno Elite Camp at Rogers Centre, Disney's Wide World of Sports in Orlando, Training Camp in Cuba and Dominican Repulic, USA Baseball Complex in Cary, North Carolina, and others.  Below is a list of the 26 Mets that have been a part of this program to date.

The next Junior National Team Camp will occur in April at Disney's Wide World of Sport and will continue the cycle towards the next World Junior Championships in the fall in Taiwan.  With having recently won the silver medal at the World Junior Championships in Korea during the summer of 2012, this camp will develop and  train the next corps of players for the next Worlds.  The Jr Nats will play a mix of Universities and MLB fall instructional league teams (Toronto Blue Jays, Detroit Tigers, etc.) Mets 18U RHP Christian Botter, LHP Adam Jafine, C/IF JD Osborne and RHP/OF Daniel Procopio were chosen to participate in the camp that just completed in October and will be prospects to continue attending in April.  Good Luck!
