17U Mets Capture Butler-Pastime Wood Bat National Championship

The Toronto Mets 17U team captured the Butler/Pastime 17U Wood Bat National Championship after defeating the Motor City Hit Dogs 2-0 in the final Sunday July 9.

The Mets rolled through the tournament with a perfect 6-0 record.

Mets arms combined for a 1.55 ERA and 46 strikeouts over 36 innings. Uncommitted 2024 RHP Luke Glenn led the way with a win and a save to go with 10 K's against 1 BB.  2023 RHP Stef Machkovski (Garrett CC) threw 6 shutout innings in the final.

Offensively the Mets stole 36 bases in their 6 games with uncommitted 2024 OF Dante Smith leading the way with 10 and 2024 C/OF Gianluca Montanaro (Bossier Parish CC) right behind with 9.  Uncommitted 2024 C Brock Grainger paced the Mets at the plate with a team leading .571 average and team high 9 RBI's.
