4 Mets Help Lead Ontario to Canada Cup Gold

4 Toronto Mets have played a key role in helping Ontario capture gold at the 2023 Canada Cup tournament in Regina, SK.

The 4 Mets pictured here L-R,  Keegan Russell - 2025 RHP/IF (uncommitted),  Dante Smith - 2024 CF (uncommitted),  Ryan Press -  2024 LHP (West Virginia University), Alex Uher - 2025 RHP (uncommitted) were major contributors throughout the tournament. 

Russell - 1-0, 7 IP, 0 ER, 10 K's, .500 AVG

Smith - .320 AVG, 8 H, 6 RBI,  7 SB

Uher - 1-0, 6 IP, 1 ER, 7 K's

Press - 2-0 6 IP, 1 ER, 5 K's

Press earned the win in the Gold Medal game against British Columbia as Smith drove in 2 runs.

This is the 3rd Gold Medal in 4 Canada Cup tournaments for Ontario since CPBL players have been allowed to participate. 

17 of 20 players named to the Ontario team were CPBL players.
