Cyclones Shine in Michigan — 10U and 13U Take Titles, 11U and 12U Finish as Finalists
The Toronto Cyclones made a strong statement at the FAAST International Tournament in Michigan this past weekend. Competing across four age groups, the Cyclones’ 10U and 13U teams captured tournament championships, while the 11U and 12U teams battled their way to finalist finishes — a testament to the depth, talent, and competitive spirit within the program.
The Cyclones program, inspired by the Brooklyn Cyclones—the Double-A affiliate of the New York Mets—serves as a key developmental platform under the Toronto Mets umbrella. The goal is simple: provide elite-level off-season training and competition opportunities for players from across Ontario, while allowing them to return to their summer clubs more prepared, confident, and fundamentally sound.
“This weekend was the first time many of these players experienced being coached by Mets staff, and it was great to see how quickly they responded,” said Eddie McKiernan, former Los Angeles Angels draft pick and Toronto Mets coach. “The Cyclones program is all about teaching the right habits, competing at a high level, and preparing these players to bring that experience back to their summer teams.”

A Promising Start
With indoor training set to begin November 1st, this early success gives the Cyclones a strong foundation heading into their developmental phase. Each team will train twice per week through the winter under the guidance of Toronto Mets coaches, focusing on advanced skill development, strength, and baseball IQ.
The Cyclones program will return to competition in the spring, continuing to represent the Mets organization with pride, professionalism, and passion for the game.
