Dante Smith Commits to North Dakota State University

Toronto Mets 2024 CF Dante Smith has announced his commitment to NCAA Division I North Dakota State in Fargo, ND.

Dante's summer was highlighted by strong showings at the 2023 17U WWBA, a CPBL All-Star appearance and an invite to The Toronto Blue Jays Futures Showcase.  He also played a key role in helping Ontario win Gold at the 2023 Canada Cup in Regina, SK.

Dante is the 4th Division I commit for the Mets 2024 class and 6th commit overall. He will be the first Toronto Met to attend NDSU and compete for Head Coach Tyler Oakes. (2022 RHP Jonah Tong committed to NDSU but signed with the New York Mets as a 7th round selection in the MLB Draft)

Dante is the son of Mike and Kelly Smith who are graduates of Point Park University in Pittsburgh, PA where Mike was a 4 year letterman in baseball and Kelly was a dance major.

 He will graduate from Pickering High School in the spring.
