2026 RHP-SS Gus Reid Commits to UBC

Toronto Mets 2026 RHP-SS Gus Reid has announced his commitment to NAIA University of British Columbia. 

The Peterborough native will join former Mets alums 2023 IF Matt Van Slyke and 2023 OF Calvin Warillow and compete for the T-Birds under Head Coach Chris Pritchett.

The Mets have a long history with UBC.  

The list of former Mets to suit up for the Thunderbirds currently including both Van Slyke and Warillow as well 2018 OF Noah Mitchell, 2012 RHP Jeremy Newton (Brewers) and 2007 Mets grad and current UBC Assistant Coach Sammie Starr (Orioles)

The son of Scott Reid and Kristi Kerford, Gus is the 10th commit of the Mets 2026 class and will graduate from Adam Scott HS in the spring.
