Jasper Bakker Commits to Jeffco

Toronto Mets 2026 RHP Jasper Bakker has announced his commitment to NJCAA Division I Jefferson College in Hillsboro, Missouri. 

The Brooklin native will join former Mets  teammates 2025 IF Jack Weiss and 2025 C Easton Joss at Jeffco and compete for Head Coach Zac Bone.  

The Mets have a long history with the Vikings.  

The list of former Mets to suit up for the Vikings include 2022 SS Greg Lachance (Illinois), 2022 3B Cole Iantomasi (Evansville), 2022 RHP Griffin Catto (Southern Illinois) as well as 2017 OF Matt Turino (Tennessee) and 2018 grad IF Leo Markotic (Texas A&M-Corpus Christie).

The son of Doug Bakker and Tenehta Gjaltema is the 8th commit of the Mets 2026 class and is a graduate of Brooklin HS.
