In a June 9 game against the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, Clarke launched himself up the wall, kept his eye on the ball, and made a full-extension grab over the fence.

That wasn’t a one-off: he made three extraordinary defensive plays in the same game.

His defense early in his MLB career has been elite by the metrics: he’s racked up Outs Above Average (OAA) and Defensive Runs Saved (DRS)

Because of plays like this, he became the first player to win MLB's Electric Play of the week four weeks in a row.

Denzel is a 2018 Grad and was originally drafted by the New York Mets in 36th round in 2018 and was ultimately selected by the A's in the 4th round of the 2021 draft after a successful college career at Cal State Northridge.
