Toronto Mets Alumni Tyler Black (2018) has been named Milwaukee Brewers 2023 Co-Minor League Player of the year.

Tyler shares the award with another of MLB's top prospects Jackson Chourio.

In 2023, Tyler was an on-base and base-stealing machine between Biloxi and Nashville. The 33rd overall pick in the 2021 draft posted a .930 OPS, hit 18 homers and stole 55 bases. Black finished with a .417 on-base percentage overall, and his average, OBP and slugging all improved across 39 games with Nashville compared to at Biloxi.

The Toronto Mets 2018 grad was selected with the 33rd overall selection of the 2021 MLB Draft by the Milwaukee Brewers after playing collegiately at Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio. He signed with the Brewers for a $2.2 million signing bonus.

Tyler is the son of Rod and Nancy Black.  Tyler's brother Brody Black is a 2021 Mets grad and is an outfielder entering his senior year at NCAA Division I Coppin State University in Baltimore, Maryland.
