Toronto Mets Alumni Lead Holiday Pro Player Camp to Support Southlake Health
The Toronto Mets are proud to share an exciting community initiative taking place this holiday season. On Sunday, December 28, a group of professional players and former Mets alumni are coming together to run the Holiday Pro Player Camp – Powered by Mets Alumni for Southlake, hosted at the Baseball Performance Center.
This event was created after several pro players—many of whom came through the Mets program—approached the facility with the desire to give back to Southlake Health’s Youth Mental Health Unit. Their goal: use baseball to make a meaningful impact in the same community that helped shape their careers.
Professional Instructors (More Names to Be Added as Confirmed)
- Jonah Tong – New York Mets
- Liam Hicks – Miami Marlins
- Mitch Bratt – Arizona Diamondbacks
- Tyler Black – Milwaukee Brewers
- Ryan Leitch – Philadelphia Phillies
Plus additional college athletes and former Toronto Mets alumni will support instruction throughout the day.
The camp will feature two sessions—one for ages 10–13 and one for ages 14–18—offering players the opportunity to train directly with MLB-caliber athletes and high-level instructors. A portion of all proceeds will be donated to Southlake Health in support of youth mental health initiatives.
A Moment of Pride for the Organization
Toronto Mets President Ryan McBride shared how meaningful this initiative is to the club:
“Seeing our former players come back, give their time, and use their platform to support youth in our community is something that makes us incredibly proud. These athletes grew up in this area, trained in our program, and now they’re choosing to give back in a way that truly matters. Their commitment to Southlake Health and to the next generation of players reflects the values we hope to instill in every Mets athlete.”
